PENTECOST SERVICE 2005

KINGDOM BUILDERS ANABAPTIST NETWORK OF GREATER PHILADELPHIA

PHILADELPHIA MENNONITE HIGH SCHOOL

About fifty brothers and sisters from the network of Anabaptist congregations attended the Saturday evening Pentecost worship service at Philly Mennonite HS. It was a blessing to be together. Some of the highlights:

------Bro. Henry Gonzalez from Oxford Circle organized and led a rockin' worship team made up of people from four different congregations.

------Sister Minnis from Second Mennonite shared her testimony, and their choir sang "Spirit of the Living God" both in a lovely quiet version and a lively Gospel variation.

------Pastor Lemuel So from Love Truth Chinese Mennonite Church shared a testimony that left us all holding our sides laughing, but also gave us something special to think about. He and his daughter, Rebecca, also led us in three Chinese songs (translated to English).

------Pastor Endalkachew Sahle from the Ethiopian Evangelical Church shared a testimony as well and led us in the Amharic version of "I have decided to follow Jesus."

------We sang "I have decided to follow Jesus" in English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Vietnamese and Tagalog with people from the different language groups leading us.

------Pastor Efraín Cotto from Comunidad de Gozo preached from the Pentecost text and challenged us to "turn the box upside down and scatter the Gospel widely."

------Bishop Freeman Miler led us in communion along with Pastor Endalkachew and Assoc. Pastor Juan Marrero.
